If the beach is your idea of a perfect place to spend Valentine’s Day, then Tybee Island is calling. Of course, just being at the beach is romantic enough, but we’ve got some suggestions to up your game.
Catch a Sunrise
Yes, it means getting up a little early, but there are few things more romantic than strolling the beach hand-in-hand while experiencing the first light of a new day together. Head to Tybee Pier and Pavilion for a perfect viewing spot, then go ahead and do something Hallmark movie-worthy like drawing a heart in the sand. Be sure to put the arrow through it.
Take a Sunset Cruise
If there is anything more romantic than a beach stroll at sunrise, it could be a boat ride at sunset. Book a sunset dolphin tour with Captain Derek’s Dolphin Adventures or Captain Mike’s Dolphin Tours for a fun adventure on the water and a magnificent view of the setting sun.
Say “I Love You” with Delicious Dining
Another great way to watch a Tybee Island sunset is from CoCo’s Sunset Grille. Seafood doesn’t get any fresher than at this dockside eatery. Keep the theme alive with a Sunset Splash cocktail, made with orange whipped cream, vodka, ginger ale, OJ and a splash of grenadine. Then have the bourbon glazed salmon or shrimp cakes. CoCo’s is a laid-back, friendly joint. A cozy spot is the 80 East Gastropub with a variety of menu items including pasta, burgers, super salads, blackened tuna tacos and more. It’s next to a service station, but don’t let that fool you. They serve craft cocktails and delicious food, and if they have the fire going, it’s even cozier.
Sip Champagne with an Ocean View
Of course, the best way to spend a romantic island getaway is in the comfort of a luxurious oceanview property. Our Movie House B (used in the filming of “Magic Mike”) has a deck with a spectacular view of the Atlantic. Or book our Tybee Beach House with a rooftop deck for panoramic views of the ocean and the river. Put the champagne on ice, sit back and sip the night away.
