One of our coziest Savannah vacation rentals is Bird Baldwin Forsyth Suite. This unit is perfect for couples' Georgia vacations or a business trip for a single person. Bird Baldwin Forsyth Suite has one bedroom with a king-sized bed and one bathroom. Like all of our vacation homes Savannah, the location is extremely convenient with private parking on Liberty Street. It is close to all the shopping, the Savannah Coffee Roasters, Mellow Mushroom, and the rest of the historic district.

Step inside the third floor unit of this historic Bird Baldwin House and find yourself charmed by the cozy shades of brown decor. Wood floors complete the look, along with old chest end tables. Settle in the living room while you read or watch shows on the flat-screen TV. The one bedroom also has a TV and fireplace, as well as an oversize chair for sitting. The bathroom features a pedestal sink. The whole unit has plenty of windows to let in the Savannah sunshine. The kitchen gives you all the tools and counter space to prepare your own meals on your vacation. Enjoy warm Savannah evenings out on the deck with two chairs and a table. The unit also features Wi-Fi, central air and heat, plus all necessary appliances and towels.

The best thing about Savannah vacation rentals at Southern Belle is how close they are to everything you want to see. Walking into Forsyth Park is a cinch from the Bird Baldwin house. Once there, you can view the iron fountain made famous by "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil," and then take a walk around the grounds or even have a picnic. Enjoy the trees draped in Spanish moss and the old southern architecture of historic Savannah. Many visitors say the town has somewhat of a mystique about it and if you're interested in ghosts and the supernatural, then there's even more for you to explore. Take a ghost tour or explore one of the many old cemeteries in the town. The Colonial Cemetery downtown is especially expansive with six acres of graves and memorials.

Other popular destinations in downtown Savannah include the Mercer House and Monterey Square. The house was built in 1860 and played a big role in the ""Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil" movie and book. The house is available for tours so you can explore its fascinating history. Make sure to leave some time to visit River Street. This expansive part of downtown is down by the river and hosts a variety of celebrations and festivals every year. It used to be a massive trading area for the town in the 1800s, but now the old warehouses serve as storefronts for boutiques, restaurants, pubs, galleries and much more.

Savannah is always filled with things to do and festivals are a big part. Several different festivals take place during the year, so make sure to ask which ones might be going on during your stay. In the spring you might be able to catch the Savannah Music Festival or Liberty Mutual Legends of Golf, PGA Champions Tour. In the summer, you might see the Fourth of July Fireworks on the Beach or the Seafood & Music Festival. Prepare for Oktoberfest in the fall and plenty of Christmas celebrations in the winter.

Our guests have access to our beautiful, heated pool that is located on Tybee Island. For our Savannah properties it is a scenic 25-minute drive through Wilmington and Whitmarsh Island, taking you over the Savannah River Delta onto Tybee Island.

Great place to stay. Close to places to eat and historic district. Place to park. The unit is on the third floor so not as noisy. There is some road noise, not bad though. We walked everywhere even to the river. One night it was chilly we wished for an extra blanket, that was a bit all that we missed having.

We had a wonderful time in Savannah visiting for a long weekend in early November. We had never travelled here before and were not sure of the best locations to stay. We were extremely lucky and pleased with our choice of the Bird-Baldwin house. The Location was perfect. Within walking distance of River Street as well as Forsyth Park. It was really only a few blocks from a Segway tours and right next-door to a wonderful coffee shop, the Savannah roasting company. Also 2 blocks away from the Telfair Academy. The area felt safe. The house is almost 190 years old and in great condition. My only complaint would be the road noise that reached our bedroom at night. We loved our stay. Thank you!

We enjoyed staying in this historic home. The living area is very comfortable and the bedroom includes a comfortable, huge king bed. The location on liberty street is very nice. Great restaurants on both sides (Savannah coffee company, great Italian market with good sandwiches and fresh pasta, Franklins and the Public). Lots of fun choices. Also easy walks to the river front or to historic Jones street. Fun location.

We had a wonderful stay at the Bird Baldwin House-Forsyth on the third floor. Everything was as described in the listing...comfortable bed and seating in the living room, large shower and walk-in closet for clothing and suitcases, relaxing porch, etc. Very clean and well maintained. The check-in directions and additional follow-up emails prior to arriving were very helpful. The parking space was an added bonus! We walked easily to many of the restaurants and museums; our car remained parked except for visiting Tybee Island and the Crab Shack. Be sure to drive through the National Wildlife Refuge to hunt and see alligators and marsh birds when you want a break from the museums. Also in your rental, don't forget to check out the lovely central staircase for the entire house which is through the locked door...(ours was in the living room) Don't miss it! We would definitely stay at the Bird Baldwin House again on a future Savannah trip.

My husband and I absolutely loved staying in the Forsyth Suite at the Bird Baldwin House. We truly felt like we were at home with all the luxurious details from the super comfortable king bed with a Roku TV in the spacious bedroom, a comfortable couch & loveseat with another Roku TV in the spacious living room, to a fabulous large shower & bathroom. The kitchenette met our needs - no oven, but EVERYTHING else we needed. We appreciated the off-street parking as well as the great pre-communication for arrival and planning our stay. We love that there's keypad entry rather than a physical key. The balcony and its seats gave us a way to enjoy the great outdoors. The location within the historic district made it easy to walk in all 4 directions of so many beautiful old homes and picturesque parks. With the house in the residential district, there wasn't as much late night laughter from "enthusiastic" tourists walking by. A true gem!

In the Heart of Savannah - Walkable to services & attractions!

We love historic, walkable and lively places, so we felt like we hit the jackpot the moment we arrived at the Bird Baldwin House! This well-maintained, 185-year old property is located in walking distance to the attractions, restaurants and services of Savannah's Historic District, including a coffee-breakfast-lunch place and Italian deli/restaurant right next door. If you have a vehicle, the property has free parking on-site and easy access to regional highway connections. Southern Belle (offsite property manager) has first-rate customer service with clear and frequent communications by email and text and gave timely responses to all of our inquiries. Practical matters: One could definitely get by without a car, but it does come in handy for access to full-service groceries and a laundry/dry-clean service about a mile away, and for exploring other parts of Savannah and the larger region. As I mentioned above, the building is 185 years old, so it has no elevator and makes creaky noises you can expect from old homes with wooden floorboards. You're staying in the middle of a busy and very popular area, so expect street noise and occasional tourist crowds into the late night/early morning hours. The unit has been refitted with central heat and A/C, but the windows couldn't be opened for fresh air when we wanted it. We would definitely recommend this place to others and stay here or other Southern Belle properties again!

The unit was very nice, it was clean, it has a small kitchen and clean bathroom. The location of it is fantastic, it was near all the good locations in the historic district. The Liberty West Bird Baldwin Forsyth Suite was perfect. The master bedroom was huge and the mattress was extremely comfortable. The family room is spacious and relaxing after a day of walking around in Savannah. The little kitchenette is great for making breakfast or heating up leftovers from a restaurant dinner. The wine rack was convenient for the bottles of wine we brought with us. The location is the best place to stay in Savannah. It is right in the middle of the historic district. Literally. In front of you, you can easily walk to the riverfront and behind you, you can walk to Forsythe Park. Walking through all of the squares is beautiful. Savannah Coffee Roasters Coffee shop is right next door and is the perfect place to grab coffee and breakfast before starting you day. They even have lunch foods as well as wine. Next to the coffee shop is a little Italian restaurant that looked amazing. Unfortunately, we did not have that on our itinerary but will go there when we go back to Savannah. A block or two down on the same street (Liberty) are a couple of great restaurants. The Public, and Hitch (Treylor Park Hitch). Great restaurants! There are also little shops on Liberty and other nearby streets as you walk toward the river. The unit was very clean when we arrived. Tons of natural light in the place and you can close the shutters if you want it dark at night. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to stay in the middle of it all in Savannah. We will return!

Just a note that your office address is incorrect on the email communication you send out. Made a difference when we were trying to find you to drop our luggage ahead of check in and using uber. We were looking for albercorn.

We retrieved the key from the lock box without a problem. It was confusing as to which door we were supposed to enter the house (back gate or front of house). The key all were tricky to use as they would stick in the locks. Maybe this is due to it being an old property, etc., however, I would think the locks would be newer. We finally entered through the front door of the house and went up the stairs. None of the doors on the third floor were marked or labeled to tell us which door was our room. I finally just tried a key in a door and finally after a lot of twisting and tugging it opened and I recognized the room from the website photos. Then an Southern Belle employee entered our room from the back. She had a coffee pot for the kitchen. Also, the back door did not have any name or label to indicate the room name. Also, our check-in information that I received via email said that our parking space was number 4, however, it was actually number 5. I told all of this to the woman who brought the coffee pot. Especially, that the none of the doors indicated which room was the Forsythe Suite. Frankly, she really didn't seem to care about any of it and was in a big hurry to leave. Otherwise, we really liked the suite and it was very comfortable. Thank you.

It keeps all the history, without giving up the comfort. It is within walking distance of everything that brought us to Savannah in the first place; the squares, the river, shopping, nightlife and of course, the beautiful neighborhoods. We didn't drive anywhere for three full days. We only drove to Tybee, Bonaventure cemetery and Wormloe. I especially was pleased with the parking, as parking is a premium in Savannah. All in all, we had a great week for our first visit to Savannah. If ever we are vacationing in Savannah again, I would definitely check Southern Belle for a rental!

The Bird Baldwin Forsyth Suite was the room my husband chose for us! I absolutely loved it, and was the perfect space for 2 people on their Honeymoon. The bed was fantastic and we slept perfectly, we enjoyed using the kitchenette, relaxing by the TV, or enjoying the large Jacuzzi tub. My only regret was that we didn't get to stay longer.
