Get ready to rock with Foreigner when the band takes the stage on Nov. 8 at the Johnny Mercer Theatre in the Savannah City Center. Hardcore fans will recognize their incredible catalog of hits like “Double Vision, “Cold as Ice,” “Feels Like the First Time,” and “I Want to Know What Love Is.” Foreigner was a staple on top 40 rock stations for more than 20 years, and this concert tour is getting rave reviews.
“Always Patsy Cline,” a stirring tribute to the country legend, plays the Savannah Theatre from Nov. 12-21. The show is based on the true story of Patsy Cline’s friendship with a fan from Houston who corresponded with the singer until her death in a plane crash in 1963. It includes 27 of her top songs, including “Crazy,” “I Fall to Pieces,” “Sweet Dreams,” “Walking After Midnight” and “Back in Baby’s Arms.”
Celebrate rockin’ blues and boogie-woogie music when That Little Ol’ Band From Texas, ZZ Top, plays the Johnny Mercer Theatre on Nov. 17. Even though they lost longtime bass-player Dusty Hill last summer, the Southern rockers continue their tour. You never know what they’ll bring to the stage, but you know they will Rock!
Take in one of the hottest tours of 2021 with TobyMac: The Theatre Tour at the Savannah Civic Center on Nov. 19. The family-friendly concert provides excellent music with various styles and an entertaining show from start to finish. The singer and his DiverseCity Band bring a powerful Christian music performance with a mix of hip hop, rock, and praise music. They’ll no doubt play a mix of new songs like “Help is On the Way (Maybe Midnight) and “Promised Land” to older hits like “Get Back Up” and “Move (Keep Walkin’).
The Tedeschi Trucks Band brings their American Blues to the Johnny Mercer Stage at the Savannah Civic Center on Nov. 20. Susan Tedeschi and Derek Trucks have put together a 12-piece ensemble that blends blues, jazz, and gospel in a sound that defies genre. These guys take it to the next level.
The concerts continue into December, with the Alabama 50th anniversary tour with special guests, the Marshall Tucker Band kicking things off on Dec. 5. It’s hard to believe that 50 years have passed since “Tennessee River” hit the charts. Then came “Dixieland Delight,” “The Closer You Get,” “High Cotton,” “Mountain Music,” “Song of the South” and a dozen other songs that topped the country charts.
