What to Expect at 1852 Gardens

When you walk into 1852 Gardens, you step into the past. This vacation home is a charming apartment set inside a historic Victorian row home. Though we've fully updated our Savannah vacation rentals with modern comforts, we've made sure to keep many of the beautiful historic elements intact. Exposed brick and stone, a fireplace, and arched French doors add vintage charm to the home.

The heart of 1852 Gardens is the central living space. This open floor plan includes a cozy seating area with a couch, armchairs, and ottomans. The room contains a television for watching all your favorite shows and eclectic, global-inspired decor. Tall French doors let in light and provide a lovely view of the garden outside. This part of the home also includes a dining table with two chairs, so you can have a spot to enjoy a lazy breakfast or host a dinner party.

To the side of the living space is a fully-equipped kitchen. An antique fireplace and hutch reference the home's historic past, while stainless steel appliances and white subway tile add a touch of modernity. The kitchen contains a refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, stove, and oven, so it's easy to cook at home. Though Savannah's tasty restaurants are just a few steps away, the kitchens in our Savannah vacation rentals make it easy to have a quiet, affordable meal at home whenever you want.

1852 Gardens is one of our two-person Savannah vacation homes. It features a full-sized bedroom with a queen bed, a fireplace, and a seating area. This peaceful bedroom is decorated in shades of soft white and cozy red, making it the perfect spot for a good night's sleep. Off of the bedroom is an en-suite bath. The bathroom has both a tub and a shower, so you can pamper yourself after a day of exploring Savannah.

One of the best things about this home is its garden-side design. The French doors in the living room lead directly to a relaxing courtyard. This roomy space is shared with other Savannah vacation homes, and it's the perfect getaway. You can rest in the sun and catch a breeze away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

A bubbling fountain and beautifully maintained hedges are a fantastic backdrop to your vacation. The courtyard is outfitted with a variety of lounge and dining furniture. You can have a refreshing lunch at the wrought iron table and chairs or sink into the settee cushions while you read a good book.

Since it's one of the most popular locations in Savannah, the neighborhood also attracts some of Savannah's best restaurants and shops. Our Savannah vacation home is right by several delicious spots like Mrs. Wilkes Dining Room, Wicked Cakes of Savannah, and Collins Quarter.

Once you're ready to travel outside of the immediate neighborhood, you'll find all sorts of fantastic things to do. Savannah is one of the oldest cities in the nation, so it is home to beautiful Colonial and Victorian architecture. You can hop on the free trolley to tour the historic districts, or you can learn about the town at one of its many museums.

Savannah is also known for its arts and culture. The town is a great spot to visit if you enjoy exploring art museums or going to concerts. Depending on when you visit the town, there can be fun local events like holiday parades and pride festivals. The downtown area also hosts farmers' markets and contains several local boutiques to shop at.

Our guests have access to our beautiful, heated pool that is located on Tybee Island. For our Savannah properties it is a scenic 25-minute drive through Wilmington and Whitemarsh Island, taking you over the Savannah River Delta onto Tybee Island.

Guests with Pets

If you would like to bring along your dog(s) during your stay, we do have some pet-friendly properties allowing up to 2 dogs and the total weight cannot exceed 50lbs for a pet fee of $130. This notice is not an indication the home you are currently viewing is pet-friendly.

We chose 1852 Garden from the VRBO app based on the pictures and the reviews! We could not have been happier when we punched in our entry code and entered! It was the perfect get-away for our 34th Wedding Anniversary. It was a beautiful location. It was easy to navigate the city either by foot or by car. The house was super clean but comfortable. We are already talking about our next trip!!!

The home is beautiful, clean and spacious. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. We did not have a vehicle and it didn't stop us from enjoying a lot of what Savannah had to offer since everything is within walking distance. We also took advantage of the swimming pool on Tybee Island which was the only need to have a driving service other than the trip to and from the airport. You do share the beautiful courtyard with neighbors, but that was clear on the site and did not bother us at all. Everyone we met was welcoming and lovely. I highly recommend this property.

We enjoyed our one-month stay at the 1852 Garden apartment. It is close to Forsyth Park and many squares, as well as the convenient (and free) DOT trolley. The apartment is comfortable, and we enjoyed the lovely courtyard. Any issues we had were quickly remedied by the apartment managers, Southern Belle, and it was fun to meet the apartment owners. Lots of fun things to do in Savannah, as well as great food!

Our stay at 111 West Gordon was above expectations. The owners have thoughtfully furnished the apartment with inviting leather club chairs, and in each room provided an inviting presence. The apt is only a couple of blocks from Forsyth Park and is near lovely boutiques and eateries. Don't miss the restaurants at SCAD. Watch "Midnight" again and visit the Mercer Williams house. Tybee Island and St. Simons are easy day trips. enjoy!

We had an amazing time during our visit to Savannah. The city is beautiful. The people are welcoming. The food…AMAZING. Tybee Island and the Mighty 8th Ait Force Museum were the best. We are already planning another trip. The unit we rented was perfect. It was centrally located to everything. It could not have been more perfect. We loved everything about our stay.

What a cool garden apartment on W Gordon St. We met our hosts and they were very welcoming. Great location - lots of space to kick back too. The only thing I would suggest tho, is that they have a DVD player that can't connect to the new TV that they had. We were going to watcb one of the movies that they had but the player was not operational - should replace. Otherwise, thanks for really a nice place!

The management company staff are excellent communicators. The accommodations were darling. The bed was extremely comfortable. It was spacious and very clean. Super cute dishes and decor. The location is about a block away from Forsyth Park and we used Whitaker Street and Drayton Street to access beautiful Savannah. My husband and I stayed in this apartment at the end of April. It was very nice. It's in a great location on a quiet street just a block from Forsyth Park. We walked around the park everyday to enjoy the beauty of Savannah. It has metered parking but we bought a pass, as suggested, and had no problem parking right in front of the rental or very close. Nice patio out the back door, nice furnishings inside, comfortable bed. Hope to stay there again next year. Note: be sure to bring your own laundry detergent and coffee if you will use those as they are not provided.

1852 Gardens is extraordinary. It's beautiful. It's charming. It's like something from a Victorian-Romantic era novel. The apartment is immaculate, very comfortable, fully equipped to meet all your needs, and is elegantly furnished with vintage pieces, art and antiques. The shared garden courtyard is lush, quiet and secluded. We sat out every evening under the stars, beside the bubbling fountain and fairy lights, and enjoyed a glass of wine by candlelight. Situated between Chatham and Monterey Squares, around the corner from Forsyth Park, and a gorgeous stroll down famous Bull Street of only 0.8 mile/1.2 km to the bustling Historic Downtown District, the location of 1852 Gardens is more than perfect. The ease of self check-in/check-out, metered street parking (also Liberty Street Parking Garage 0.4 mile/650m for long-term parking), and a nearby grocery store (Kroger 0.6 mile/1 km) that delivers should you wish to prepare any of your own meals during your stay, makes 1852 Gardens an incredibly desirable and highly recommended choice in accommodation in Savannah. Enjoy!
