Inside Lazy Hammock

Once you set foot in this spacious townhouse, you’ll know you have arrived in the ideal location. The living room offers casual yet comfy seating, and the sofa folds out to a double bed. Beach photos and sea turtles adorn the walls, making it easy to switch from a city to a seaside mindset. A large smart TV provides entertainment at your command.

Step through the sliding glass doors to a private outdoor space. A glass-topped table with seats for six is great for al fresco meals in the freshening sea air, and you can recline in the sun when the hammock is free. There’s even a gas grill where your group can cook up communal dinners.

The contemporary kitchen borders the living room, making it easy to converse with others in your group during meal prep and cleanup. We make sure to fully stock the drawers and cupboards of all our vacation rentals Tybee Island GA with all tools you’ll need, from dishes to cookware. Full-sized built-ins like the refrigerator-freezer, range-oven and overhead microwave conserve space while preserving a sleek profile. Tybee Vacation Rentals Outings

You’ll find plenty of activities to occupy your time on Tybee, from beach adventures to historic sites. Lazy Hammock is just a half mile from North Beach, one of the island’s three well-known strands.

Take a stroll or bike ride to nearby Jaycee Park. You’ll find walking and cycling trails along a lovely, meandering waterway, lighted athletic fields, a children’s playground and a pavilion. It’s a great place to picnic on your way to the beach or enjoy a refreshing jog at sunset.

Fort Screven is also near North Beach. This historic coastal defense station dates to 1897. It is named after General James Screven, a notable in the Revolutionary War. The fort's official mandate was to safeguard the mouth of the Savannah River from invaders, which it fulfilled until the end of World War II. The fort’s Battery Garland once held munitions, but since the mid-20th century, it has housed museum exhibits. Fort Screven also boasts the Tybee Post Theater, which underwent renovation and reopening in 2015. Now, you can attend movies and concerts there.

Stop by the Fort Screven Guardhouse, originally a jail but now converted to the Tybee Island Community Center. Be sure to swing by Officer’s Row as well, one of the island’s swankiest neighborhoods.

The 145-foot Tybee Light Station is impossible to miss from the North Beach parking lot. The first iteration of this historic structure dates to 1736, and the current edifice was built in 1773. Climb the 178 steps to the observation deck and drink in the sights. During the summer months, you can see both sunrise and sunset from atop the Light Station.

While enjoying the area, be sure to walk along the Savannah River trail. It’s a great place to see a wealth of native flora and fauna. Dolphin sightings are frequent, so it’s likely you’ll catch glimpses of these playful mammals sporting in the current. You can also view the big freighters headed to the Port of Savannah.

In addition to the pool on site at the condo community, our guests have access to our beautiful, heated pool that is located on Tybee Island. For our Savannah properties it is a scenic 25-minute drive through Wilmington and Whitemarsh Island, taking you over the Savannah River Delta onto Tybee Island.

Guests with Pets

If you would like to bring along your dog(s) during your stay, we do have some pet-friendly properties allowing up to 2 dogs and the total weight cannot exceed 50lbs for a pet fee of $130. This notice is not an indication the home you are currently viewing is pet-friendly.

Long-Term Stays

For our long-term stays, 30 days or more, we require a deposit and our office will reach out to you for details. For 60 days or more long-term stays, we require an additional clean.

We absolutely loved our vacation rental at the Lazy Hammock. It was aesthetically pleasing, clean, plenty of room, comfortable and had all the amenities we could possibly need. The location was quiet and peaceful and within walking distance of everything and convenient. The staff at Southern Belle were very polite and wonderful to work with. We definitely will be returning and will book through Southern Belle. Thank you for a wonderful experience!

Lazy Hammock was very clean. The location was perfect for us as we spent time in Savannah and Tybee. The home had everything we needed. We loved the two 'living rooms' and TVs in every room. The kitchen was well stocked with all the dishes and kitchen gadgets. It was lovely. I would totally stay there again!

This is without a doubt, the nicest property we have ever rented on a beach trip. Fully renovated, we were told,this year, and very well executed. The location is a 10 minute walk to North Beach public beach, through a fascinating neighborhood filled with quirky, as well as some fabulous and also historic 19th century homes. North Beach comes equipped with a great little restaurant/bar, public rest rooms, parking, and a beautiful dune and beach area. Adjacent to the beach is a 19th century fort and a 18th century lighthouse. During our visit we had fantastic seafood at every restaurant we tried. We could not have enjoyed our stay anymore than we did. I highly recommend Lazy Hammock to anyone looking for a place to stay on Tybee island.

Our family enjoyed our stay at this newly renovated condo! Everything was clean and updated . and the host went above and beyond with accommodations. They were happy to answer any and all questions I had regarding our stay there. The beds were very comfortable and the rooms were spacious. The location of the condo was very close to the tybee island beaches and all of the beach restaurants and island life. . Our kids enjoyed the pool and had an amazing time! We will definitely be back to this wonderful condo!
