The Wonders of Back River Beach House

Back River Beach House is uniquely located to enhance your enjoyment of the landscape. Unlike many vacation rentals Tybee Island GA, this home is tucked away on the Tybee Creek side of the island’s southern peninsula. Still within a short walk of South Beach and the Tybee Island Pier and Pavillion, this accommodation offers a cool, quiet respite after a busy day on the strand.

When you walk in the garden-level front door, a cool foyer with a hall table emits a sense of calm and welcome. A large garage offers convenient indoor parking, and an open staircase provides access to the main floors above.

The bright, cozy living room draws you in with comfortable furnishings in a sea-blue and warm sand color scheme. Plenty of throw pillows on the sofa invite you to sink in while matching overstuffed armchairs encourage conversation. Large windows add a sense of expanse. The private elevator provides quick access to this upper floor, making it so much easier to get settled in.

The dining area and kitchen await just beyond the open archway. A formal dining set offers elegant seating for eight beneath a sparkling chandelier. Large windows keep the space crisp and bright, and a sliding door leads outside to balcony seating, great for sharing a cold beverage and afternoon snack. A flat-screen TV in the adjacent lounge keeps everyone entertained.

The Cape Cod-style kitchen features a full roster of stainless-steel appliances. The range features double ovens and a microwave above to answer all your cooking needs during your vacation rentals Tybee Island GA stay. A large fridge-freezer is great for cold drinks, fresh produce from local stores and doggie bags from your favorite restaurants.

The beadboard cupboards hold glasses, tableware, cookware and utensils for fitting out those family-style dinners you will enjoy so much. The en suite bathroom pampers you with a large tub, glass-doored step-in shower and his-and-her sinks. We supply a generous stockpile of towels in each of the three full bathrooms.

The second bedroom also features a roomy king-sized bed, lamps and nightstands. Bedroom three offers a queen-sized bed, and is decorated in restful tones of blue. A nearby bath off the hallway offers a tub/shower combination plus a wealth of counterspace where you can set out your makeup and/or shaving kit.

A duo of twin beds in the fourth bedroom accommodates the kids or singles in you travel group. Leafy views beyond the large window make this a cozy nest for restful nights. The sparkling third bathroom has a tub/shower.

Southern Belle Pool

Our guests have access to our beautiful, heated pool that is located on Tybee Island. For our Savannah properties it is a scenic 25-minute drive through Wilmington and Whitemarsh Island, taking you over the Savannah River Delta onto Tybee Island.

Guests with Pets

If you would like to bring along your dog(s) during your stay, we do have some pet-friendly properties allowing up to 2 dogs and the total weight cannot exceed 50lbs for a pet fee of $130. This notice is not an indication the home you are currently viewing is pet-friendly.

Long-Term Stays

For our long-term stays, 30 days or more, we require a deposit and our office will reach out to you for details. For 60 days or more long-term stays, we require an additional clean.

We stayed at the Back River Beach House with another family and had the best time. I loved that there were baby gates at each staircase to keep our toddlers from wandering too far. The house had all the amenities we needed with lots of bath towels and paper products. My daughter loved the novelty of an elevator in a house and wanted to ride it every chance she could. Aside from the normal little stains on the rugs and couches which are normal for rental homes, everything was exceptionally clean. We really enjoyed staying here and the location was wonderful as well.

Beautiful home. Spotless, lovely/tasteful decor, well stocked kitchen, comfy beds and furniture, great family/living room area, good location, nice decks. The elevator is a plus for anyone who has mobility issues as there are a lot of steps to get up to the kitchen and living space. We have rented many homes for stays at beaches and elsewhere. This unit was, by far, our favorite rental!!

About a 10 minute walk to an ocean beach,and the Back River beach is just at the end of the block. Quiet neighborhood. It was a great choice for us: 6 adults and 1 toddler.

This was our first trip to Tybee Island and we will definitely be back. Excellent communications with Southern Belle and fast responding. Easy check in/check out. The house was amazing with Spacious bedrooms, large kitchen, and the elevator was great for our handicap guests. The Back River was right around the corner and the beach on the South End was not crowded. The pool for guest was nice and clean with plenty of chairs to lounge. Looking forward to staying at Back River Beach House next summer.

Beautiful house in great location made our vacation with multiple generations a wonderful experience! Father with mobility issues was able to use elevator to get between floors easily. Bedrooms were roomy and bathrooms on each level made getting ready a breeze. Off street parking available saved on fees. The house was completely stocked with cookware, dishes, and even spices, bath soaps, lotions. Kids and adults loved the mini corn hole game! We appreciated the text during the week to check how stay was going. Thank you for opening the home to us. We hope to stay here again.

Everything about the Back River Beach House was awesome. It is ideally located so you can walk to many restaurants and beach areas. The kitchen has all the “tools” you will need to prepare meals at home as well. Overall, a great long weekend and our family all enjoyed the house and Tybee. Looking forward to another visit in the future.

Our family got together for a week over Thanksgiving to unwind at this lovely home on Tybee Island. Plenty of room for kids and grandparents to cozy up together or find a quiet place to read. Loved the porch for game night and watching the sunset. The steps could be a workout for some, but we very much appreciated the elevator for the grandparents and the added peace of mind provided by the retractable baby gates for the toddler. Overall, the home was very nicely decorated, clean and spacious. Beds were extra comfy. We will definitely come back again!
