Southern Belle Vacation Rentals in Savannah, GA, Wilmington Island, GA, and Tybee Island, GA provides first-class amenities including access to our exclusive resort-style heated pool located at 19 Silver Avenue, Tybee Island GA. All of our homes are professionally cleaned after each stay, and disinfected using a quaternary disinfectant throughout the entire property prior to each new arrival.

Built in 1902, The Sanctuary Thunderbolt is a vacation retreat unlike any other. Originally a clapboard Southern style church, it's now a four-bedroom home accommodating up to 10 guests. With stained glass accented windows, your stay with Thunderbolt vacation rentals can be a memorable one.

THE LARGE INTERIOR SPACE

As you walk into The Sanctuary Thunderbolt the floor plan of the original church opens up. To your right, find the main sitting area with a flat-screen TV. A baby grand piano resides in the corner for those musical moments. Turn to your left to find the second sitting area, complete with a colorful sectional sofa and matching chairs. Moving forward, discover the dining table with seating for up to 10 guests.

The next focal point of our Thunderbolt GA vacation homes is the kitchen. Centered where the church's altar once resided with original light fixtures above, this property's kitchen has two breakfast bars. With seating for 5 guests, the first breakfast bar is adjacent to the main living space. The second breakfast bar is a pass-through design with seating for up to four guests on the opposite side of the kitchen.

Here, there's a large patio sofa, two chairs and multiple side tables for your group. With a chandelier above, this patio is also a nighttime reprieve as the cool breezes kick up. Mechanics Ave was the heart of racing in Savannah in 1908. As you enjoy the front porch, imagine intrepid drives like Louis Wagner racing his Fiat past you at 65 mph!

Next, walk down the length of the property to reach the backyard. Along the way, double doors give you access to the home near the property's center point. Southern Belle Pool

Our guests have access to our beautiful, heated pool that is located on Tybee Island. For our Savannah properties it is a scenic 25-minute drive through Wilmington and Whitemarsh Island, taking you over the Savannah River Delta onto Tybee Island.

Guests with Pets

If you would like to bring along your dog(s) during your stay, we do have some pet-friendly properties allowing up to 2 dogs and the total weight cannot exceed 50lbs for a pet fee of $130. This notice is not an indication the home you are currently viewing is pet-friendly.

Our stay at The Sanctuary Thunderbolt was nothing short of exceptional. This unique rental, an old church transformed into a comfortable and inviting accommodation, offers a cool and distinctive vibe that sets it apart from typical rentals. The kitchen was well-stocked, making meal preparation a breeze. It was also a great area for socializing, with an open space where everyone could gather and enjoy each other's company. The decor was a mix of elegant and funky, creating a very cool atmosphere that we absolutely loved. The space was ideal for entertaining, with a lovely open layout that made gatherings both easy and enjoyable. Additionally, the beautiful baby grand piano in the corner added an elegant touch and was a delightful feature for music lovers. The beds and linens were super nice, adding a touch of luxury to our stay. We all slept comfortably! We also loved the patio in the back yard, which provided ample seating and a nice BBQ. It was the perfect spot for relaxing and enjoying the pleasant Savannah weather. Overall, The Sanctuary Thunderbolt provided a wonderful experience, combining comfort, style, and functionality in a unique setting. We would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable stay in Savannah. We would definitely stay there again.
