The Last Song

Based on Nicholas Spark’s bestselling novel, The Last Song brought the beauty of Tybee Island to screens worldwide. The film stars Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth, and features numerous scenes shot around the island. Many of the pivotal moments in the movie were filmed on Tybee’s stunning beaches, including the iconic pier. 

Baywatch 

The comedy reboot of Baywatch, starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Zac Efron, brought high-energy action to the shores. The movie’s beach scenes were filmed on the local beaches with several scenes featuring the Estill Hammock Marina. 

Peanut Butter Falcon

The Peanut Butter Falcon, a touching and moving film starring Shia Lebouf, has many scenes capturing the serene natural beauty of the coastal regions in Tybee Island. Magic Mike XXL
Magic Mike XXL brought its own brand of excitement to Tybee Island, with scenes filmed along the iconic beach and pier area. Fans can retrace the film’s steps and see where some of the movie’s memorable moments unfolded. The opening shot features Mike (Channing Tatum) sitting on one of the wooden swings on Tybee Island beach. He's wearing his Mike Lane Custom Designs T-shirt, which was made by local T-shirt company 13 Bricks Clothing (now Studio 13). Mike's beachside home, where he crafts his furniture, is located at the corner of Solomon and 2nd Avenues on Tybee Island. Several scenes, including Tatum’s popular dance sequence wearing a welding helmet, were filmed here and have been featured in the movie’s trailers. Additionally, the scenes where Mike attempts to sell his furniture around town were shot at 10 Whitaker Street, with a memorable sequence showing him walking down the street near the Whitaker Street Parking Garage.

Wild America
The coming-of-age adventure film Wild America, starring Jonathan Taylor Thomas, also used Tybee Island’s natural landscapes as a backdrop for some of its outdoor scenes. Take in the same breathtaking sights while exploring the beaches and marshes that made the film so visually striking.
