When it’s time to beat the heat on Tybee Island, you can’t go wrong with an ice-cold drink.
For what is perhaps the largest variety of frozen choices, head to Wet Willie’s. With dozens of pre-mixed frozen drinks, patrons may find it difficult to narrow the selection. Try the lemonade-based Shock Treatment, a Sour Apple or an Attitude Adjustment, a tangy orange drink. Or get creative and mix your own. Wet Willie’s was started in 1988 by a small group of friends looking to fuse the daiquiri concept with a casual, upbeat atmosphere. Mission accomplished.
Tybee Time offers another great place to enjoy a daiquiri, like mango, strawberry, Pina Colada and more. This beach bar offers a laid-back atmosphere with a great location right by the Tybee Pier.
Take a Jell-O shot at The Sand Bar, a local hangout with a friendly staff, live music, games and cold beers if a Jell-O shot is not your thing.
North Beach Bar & Grill serves creative cocktails like Cruzan Confusion, Miami Vice and frozen lemonade that are a hit with patrons. Their rum runner also gets rave reviews. North Beach is a colorful beach shack with a palm-shaded deck.
A spot called The Deck Beach Bar & Kitchen is sure to serve fun, frozen beach drinks. Try the spicy mango or jalapeño margarita. Or add zest to your beach visit with their lemon basil martini. The oceanfront restaurant is located at Beachside Colony Resort.
The cocktail menu at CoCo’s Sunset Grille is as colorful as the restaurant located at Lazaretto Creek Marina. Try the Funky Monkey, a mix of pineapple, CoCoNut rum and banana, a glass of nutty goodness. Or watch the sunset while sipping a Sunset Splash, a combo of cherry and vanilla vodkas mixed with tropical juice.
With an eclectic array of casual beach bars, Tybee Island offers plenty of places to cool off with a frozen or iced drink while on your beach vacation. Let us know your favorite.
