It’s summertime and the living is easy. A Savannah vacation is a great way to enjoy this time of year. The city is dripping with charm, and the beaches of Tybee Island are just down the road. Check out some of our favorite summer activities. 

 

Cool off at the Ellis Square Splash Pad at City Market. You will feel like a kid again splashing in this interactive fountain. At night, colorful lights turn the fountain rainbow bright.

 

Get on the water with Compass Sailing Charters aboard a 38-foot classic Morgan sailing yacht. The deck offers plenty of room to sit back and watch egrets and dolphins. Enjoy views of the region's salt marshes and the Atlantic Ocean. Bring a cooler and picnic basket and come sail away.

 

Take a ride with Savannah Riverboat Cruises. With three boats that hold 400 to 600 passengers, Savannah Riverboat Cruises has just the right spot for you and your crew. Dining decks are climate-controlled, and the open-air third deck makes a perfect spot for watching the waterfront and other ships. 

 

Landlubbers can stick with Savannah Slow Ride, a locally owned, pedal-powered way to explore Savannah. Join a two-hour adventure on a 15-seater giant bike to check out some of the city's classic watering holes and local historic bar scene. Take advantage of the open container law and bring an adult beverage on board.

 

Hang out with locals and try some craft beer at one of Savannah’s breweries.Service Brewing Co., a veteran-owned brewery at 574 Indian St., and Southbound Brewing Co., 107 E. Lathrop, are open Wednesday through Sunday afternoons. Moon River Brewing, 21 W. Bay St., opens at 11 a.m. seven days a week. 

 

Pamper yourself with a spa day at Poseidon Spa at the Mansion on Forsyth Park. The full-service spa provides an elegant atmosphere with contemporary amenities. Treatments include massage therapy, rejuvenating body treatments, nourishing facials, and specialty nail treatments.

 

Enjoy culture in air-conditioned comfort at one of Savannah’s many museums. The Jepson Center at Telfair Museums is a modern building filled with art. The current exhibit is "Sensitive Contacts: Interactive Art by Scenocosme," on display through Aug. 6. Tickets include admission to all three Telfair Museums. The center is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.

Get a double-dip at Leopold’s Ice Cream, a local tradition since 1919. Their home-made premium ice cream is delicious, and the atmosphere makes some wonderful summer memories for your family.
