Summertime hasn’t slipped away quite yet. Celebrate the last big party of the season with a Labor Day trip to Tybee Island. Enjoy the sun, sand, and surf one more time, as well as the amazing seafood restaurants, boutiques, and museums.
Of course, you’ll want to spend time at the beach. Tybee Island offers five beaches, with miles of sand and a different vibe at each site. North Beach, home of the Tybee Light Station & Museum, is quiet and family friendly.
Mid-beach puts you near popular restaurants, while South Beach is a popular spot near the Tybee Pier & Pavilion where you’ll find plenty of shopping and dining options. Back River Beach is another peaceful spot for families. Rent a boat or take a charter to Little Tybee Island to really get away from it all.
The Tybee Island Pier & Pavilion are a must-stroll for any visitor to the island. Watch fishermen reeling in their catch or the passing boats by the pier. Or explore nearby dining and shopping options.
Learn about life under the sea at the Tybee Island Marine Science Center. The non-profit has a new facility where guests can peruse exhibits and participate in water activities.
Get out on the water with a dolphin tour, fishing charter or sunset cruise. Be on the lookout for dolphins and other wildlife while exploring local waterways.
The Labor Day Beach Bash is set from 7 to 10 p.m. on Sept. 3. Enjoy ocean breezes while live music fills the air from the Tybee Island Pier & Pavilion. The free event features live entertainment by The Swinging Medallions and fireworks with the Atlantic Ocean as the backdrop.
Plan your stay by booking a Tybee rental. We offer houses with ocean views, as well as large beach homes. Some accommodations have private pools. Book the perfect place and stake out your spot in the sand.
