Savannah is just one of those American cities that everyone must visit. It offers a little of everything you want in a vacation destination: Historic origins, charming sites, beautiful squares, fantastic food, and friendly locals. And that’s just getting started.
First up are those renowned squares throughout the Historic District. And most of our vacation properties are within steps of one of these 22 historic green spaces. As its centerpiece is Forsyth Park, 20 acres with an iconic fountain.
Of course, summertime in Savannah calls for cooling off! Many of our vacation properties offer private pools, which make a refreshing place to cool off during a summer stay.
Catch a show when the classic musical “Grease” is on stage at the Savannah Theatre from June 7-28. Tickets start at about $27 for children and just over $50 for adults.
Pick up fresh, local produce at the Forsyth Farmers Market, open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. each Saturday in the south end of the park.
Another event is the Locals Savannah River Street Market, which celebrates Juneteenth and Pride month on June 21-23. This monthly market series features local musicians, artists, craftsmen, businesses, and more. It takes place the third weekend of each month.
Take a tour with Old Savannah Trolley or Old Town Trolley. A hop-on/hop-off tour is a great way to get an overview of the city, hear tales of its history, and see the sights. Just hop off when something catches your eye, then catch the next trolley when you’re ready.
No doubt you’ll want to try some of the amazing cuisine. From Southern fare to Lowcountry favorites to fresh seafood, Savannah restaurants have you covered. And don’t forget a refreshing libation. This city is renowned for them.
Last, but not least, check out one of the amazing museums. The Telfair Museums offer three museums in one, including children’s and art museums.
