It’s that time of year when you want to sit on a deck enjoying an ice-cold drink. Fortunately, Tybee Island has an amazing array of places to do just that.
A-J’s Dockside has an outdoor deck seating overlooking the river. Watch the spectacular sunset over the dock while sipping a cold beer.
Once a fish camp, The Crab Shack on Chimney Creek has been a gathering spot for almost 40 years. With a beautiful view of the salt marsh, you may even catch sight of an alligator.
Of course, a joint called The Deck will offer a delightful outdoor space. The Deck Kitchen & Beach Bar overlooks the Atlantic Ocean so that breathtaking view alone is worth the trip. Order a Deck Rum Punch, a house blend of fruit juices, coconut and dark rums.
Located between the lighthouse and the beach, North Beach Bar & Grill provides a wonderful view of the Atlantic. Order a craft beer or a frozen cocktail.
Head to the rooftop deck at Pier 16 Seafood Restaurant for beachy vibes and a relaxing atmosphere. This family-owned restaurant has two other outdoor decks as well. Order a Tybee Surfer made with Cruzan cherry, Cruzan mango, orange and pineapple juices, and grenadine.
At Riptide Bar & Grill order the Ahoy Matey Margarita, a frozen peach margarita with an extra shot of Jose Cuervo. You can’t beat the view of the ocean from the location next to the Tybee Pier & Pavilion.
Have a Salted Praline Shot at Sting Ray’s Seafood where you can watch the action on Butler Avenue. The Praline Shot is Sting Ray’s twist on a Southern staple, which pares Bird Dog Praline Whiskey with butter shop schnapps and adds a salted rim.
The deck and recently-opened patio at Salt Island Fish & Beer overlooks the street, just a block from the beach and ocean. Try a craft beer with their modern twist on seafood.
What’s your favorite watering hole with outside seating? With so many to choose from in Tybee Island, it’s a tough call to make.
